Panaad sa NegrosPanaad sa Negros was considered as the “Mother of all Festivals” in the province of Negros Occidental. This event started in 1993 as a thanksgiving celebration and fulfillment of a promise and vow to the Divine Providence in exchange of good life. It is participated by the cities and municipalities composing the province. It is first held at the provincial capitol lagoon in Bacolod City, which later on transferred to reclamation area, where the seaport going to Iloilo can be found. With the popularity and increasable number of people who occasionally participated in the event every year, the Panaad sa Negros Festival found its permanent home in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City in courtesy of the big sports complex being built through the effort of provincial government, which is now called Panaad Stadium Park.

On this place now lies the permanent booth of cities and municipalities participating in the event which showcased the history and all information about their places. It also featured the products and native delicacies of every cities and municipalities that made them popular in terms of producing and creating their way of food production based on their traditions and culture. Panaad sa Negros Festival also signifies the creativity and how talented the Negrenses are, because during the festival many events being conducted such as Composo, Dance Showdown Competition, Singing Contest, Beauty Pageants and a lot more can be witnessed during the one week event.  With all these competition the most popular and being waited by many is the Lin-ay sang Negros, a beauty pageant contest where every municipalities and cities have their own beautiful representative to take the banner of their respective hometown. The winner of this contest being crowned as the Lin-ay sang Negros which has the honor to bring the flag of Negros Occidental as a represent in any nationwide beauty contest like the Binibining Pilipinas.

Right now the Panaad Festival was considered by the Department of Tourism as one of top festivals all over the country, and it helps the promotion of tourism not only in Negros Occidental because of many local visitors and the enormous number of foreign tourists visiting the Negros Occidental especially Bacolod City.
