Seminar on Food Technology Held at Bacolod City

The Department of Trade and Industry and the Association of Negros Occidental Food Processors organized a technology transfer on root crops processing last August 27 and 28 at the Negros Occidental Technology Livelihood and Development Center in Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City.

The seminar addressed to help the local bakers, confectioners, and other flour-based processors to cope with the increase in the prices of flour and sustain profitability, a statement from the DTI-Negros Occidental.

The training was facilitated by the experts from the University of the Philippines in the Visayas-School of Technology. The two-days seminar focused on the combination of lecture and workshop on flour composition and required quality for common bakery products; technology of root crops flour production; hazards and risks for not implementing good manufacturing practices in flour production;  preparation of ingredients; and flour-making process.

The participants of the said seminar received a training certificate from the organizers as a proof of their efforts during the training.
