The organizers of the upcoming Masskara Festival Celebration is now finalizing the preparations and schedules of events which will kick-off this coming October , a news report said.

The Festival will start the long celebration from October 1, 2008 and will end on October 19, 2008 which will serve as the festival highlights. Masskara Village will be set-up at the SM City Bacolod as a part of the venue celebration, and the food and beer kiosks around the Bacolod City public plaza will be reengineered to make them more family-friendly.

The events like street dancing competitions are set on October 16, 17, 18 2008, for school, barangay and open categories, respectively.  The Electric MassKara which founded last year  will once again light up the evening streetdancing contest,  which will be held Oct. 17, 18 and 19 at the Tourism Strip of Bacolod at Lacson Street, 10 participating groups are expected to showcase their talents with this event.

Other events that will make the Masskara Festival celebrations more colorful are, Magica Masskara 5, an annual art show featuring the works of Bacolod’s local leading artists, the Masskara beat contest called “Patik” a competition that will use homemade musical instruments  which will surely attract more tourists and redefine the old ones, and of course to showcase the beauty and talents of Bacole?as the Masskara Queen beauty pageant will be stage during the festival celebration.
