In honor of its Patron Saint Nicolas de Tolentino, Talisay City will celebrate their 9th Minulu-an Festival on September 6-10, 2008. The 5-day event will be full of Arts and Cultural Fair celebrations. A civic military parade will open the celebration, to be followed by the cutting of ribbon of the Trade Fair, Exhibits and Garden Show.

Aside from exhibits and Trade fair there will be a live band concert at the public plaza and the highlight of this is the concert of the hottest love team of Philippine entertainment, Pinay actress Kim Chiu and actor Gerald Anderson on September 10. Cultural shows sponsored by the Sangguniang Kabataan, different barangays, educators, employees and city officials during the night of festivities.

There will also be a one of its kind cockfighting event dubbed as the 1st Doc Eric Karambola, 3rd Minulu-an Dog Show, Dance Sports Competition, 2nd Doc Eric Mind Quest Competition, Vocal Solo Contest for Persons with Disabilities, Mural Painting Contest, Oratorical & Impromptu Speaking Competition, Sayaw Awit Competition and Street Dancing Competition.

The organizers also prepared the Kwarta o Lata segment which a local version of Wowowee’s Pera o Bayong, the expected pinoy celebrity to entertain the public is Kid Camaya, a contestant from GMA’s Pinoy Idol.

Other entertaining events to watch are Basketball and Chess Tournament, Airsoft Competition and other sporting competition.
