NORSU to Celebrate Hugyawan Festival

The Negros Oriental State University in Dumaguete City will celebrate the Hugyawan Festival by featuring a Parody of Disney with the theme of “NORSU Entertains with a Humorous Parody of Disney” according to the school officials.

The Hugyawan Festival is considered as the main event for the NORSU for their sixth and last day of celebrating their 81st Founders Day this coming December 3.

According to Dr. Peter Dayot, Hugyawan Festival chairman, 12 contestants will participate in the event that will be highlighted by a street dancing and showdown competitions. The festival will also showcase the world of fantasies full of fun, varied noises and sounds, gimmickries, colorful festival costumes, merrymaking and lots of entertainment.

Street dancing will start at 1 p.m. around the main roads of Dumaguete City and the showdown contest will follow at the NORSU Sports and Cultural Complex at 3 p.m.

The contingents with their presentations are the College of Arts and Sciences: “Mary Poppins and Friends”; College of Business and Accountancy: “101 Dalmatians”; College of Education: “Pocahontas”; College of Engineering and Architecture: “A Bug’s Life”; College of Industrial Technology: “Finding Nemo”; College of Maritime Education: “Tarzan and Friends”; College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences: “Aladdin and Friends”; College of Technological Education: “Prince of Egypt”; NORSU Bais City Campus: “Little Mermaid”; NORSU Bayawan-Sta. Catalina Campus: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”; NORSU Guihulngan Campus: “Jungle Book”; NORSU Siaton Campus: “Hunchback of Notre Dame.
