Municipality of Moises Padilla
Moises Padilla was a former barrio of Isabela a neighboring town and its original name was Mgallon and later became Moises Padilla when it declared it as a town. The name of the town was changed after the death Mr. Moises Padilla a mayoralty candidate who was tortured and killed by assassins of a certain prominent family in Negros Island due to political reasons. Moises Padilla was martyred by the late Ramon Magsaysay, former president of Republic of the Philippines it was believed that Moises Padilla was a friend and a major supporter of Magsaysay in every political arena after the war.
When Ramon Magsaysay won the presidential election he passed a resolution to change the name of Magallon into Moises Padilla and also a separate town of Isabela.The town was located in the central part of Negros Island where you can find the best place to view the Canlaon Volcano. Along the east side part of the town is the longest river in Negros Island, the Binalbagan River.The town is amazingly having its natural spring water right in the heart of the town. Large concrete storage tank was constructed to store the never ending supply of clean and fresh water. No mechanical device needed to extract the rare wealth, it just flowing free and filled the tank endlessly.
Right now Moises Padilla was considered as a 4th class municipality of Negros Occidental and according to the statistics it has a population of 34, 658 people in 6.736 households.(NSO)
