The municipality of Toboso is located at the southern part of Negros Occidental province. It belongs to the 4th class municipality, consisting 9 barangays all over the town. The population measures to 40, 712 people in 8, 8060 households according to the 2000 Census of NSO.

The municipality is depending on agricultural products which large amount of its land area planted b sugarcane, corn and rice. Some people depends their livelihood through fishing and other agricultural activities.
