Municipality of Basay
The town of Basay is a municipality under the banner of Negros Oriental in the Philippines. It is considered as a 4th class municipality of the province. The municipality owns a total number of 21, 366 of people in 4, 220 households according to the statistics which recorded in the 2000 Census.
Tourist spots were one of the main attractions of the municipality that a lot of local and foreign tourists love to visit the town. One of the best destinations are the beaches of Balatong Point which a best place for tourists on their underwater activities like diving because was considered as the best diving spots in the region. The municipality was also rich with unexplored caves that located in the different parts of the town. One of the famous cave is the Nagbo-alao cave which best and well known for its rock formation.
Farming and fishing is one of the main sources of the people living in the munipality.
