The town was considered as one of the biggest town in the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines and rated as a 3rd class town of the region. It has a huge number of 64, 451 people in 13,357 household living in the place.

A poblacion landmark called Pasaka-a nspring fed lake amid and a forested area, ideal for local and foreign tourists for picnics or vacation. The admission is free and it is about 3 to 5 minutes tricycle or jeepney from the town proper. The Pasaka-an spring is the town’s main source of potable drinking water.
